Just updated the TDSL database to show tube families for the all time searches. By family, it means that 6L6, 6L6-G, 6L6-WGB, 6L6-GC are all the same 6L6 family.

I have just scanned a application note from STC, in PNG format, but I can easily redo that to PDF if you wish.

You specifically point out the 6L6, which is a tiny part of that series of valves from RCA, although I believe their beginning was English.
a 6L6 is a direct derivative of the 807 which goes all the way back to the early 1930's. I think origionally they were a military broadcast tetrode intended for use in mobile equipment of that time. I would guess class C telegraphy transmitters in early bombers, tanks and even as backpack radios for the plebs.
It directly connects from the 807, to the 6L6, then the 6V6, 6BW6 and the 7C5, thence to 6AQ5. ALL basically the same design valve, but with decreasing plate dissipation as we move right to left. The file is 39 megs, so if you want this scan from the origional application manual printed by STC ( and is quite rare ) in 1961.

Thanks for doing this, however would you be good enough upload the file to your website or storage area please and post the link, rather than upload here. I can link to it from TDSL and from here - that will bring it to a much wider audience.

Yes I agree with your comment of r-type.org. I have been using it for many years, but thats when my own library doesnt have a particular valve. Lots of the "cv " series or common valve series comes under that heading. I have access to all the valves that the gummit sold when we made our whole military go solid state. There were millions sold off for pennies, and I wasnt there . But I know a bloke that bought most of the useful ones. He did leave the huge navy magnetrons. A whole pallet of 807's cost him $20 Australian dollars, and I think that was 1000 units.
