Hi I am looking for data about a couple of tubes I got in my tubebox.
on the box itīs typed:
Luma Industria Sueca IG 34
S2
I have searched the net whitout any trace. Inside the tube there is an spiral going from the socket and upp. I think it might be an indicator-tube of some kind?
Data wanted!!! |

Hi Adalin
What is the size of your tube and what is the base configuration? Can you identify where the plate, heater, grid... are conected? Some times it can be a regular tube just with a different code.
Please, send more information and I will look on my manuals.
Regards.

Hi
The size of the tube is like an ordinary EL34
Itīs Ocktalbase
I donīt think itīs an amplifiertube. I think itīs a "glimeye"
The only connections internaly is one pin whitch goes to the spiral
and one pin on each side of the spiral
a total of three pins
The question now is, How can I get it to light?? |

Hi
I was wondering if that should not be a kind of light bulb or gas-filled tube. Can you scan that and send me the image?

Hi Adalin
Despite the base I don't think it is a valve. My guess is that device is a kind of neon-gas light bulb. Have you tried to check if there is any resistence among its terminals? If I am right you will find an open circuit on all of them.
Try also to look for a voltage among terminals, just to make sure it is not a photo tube.
Sorry but I can't go further. Let's wait to see if some one recognize this tube.

P.S. I will send the picture to a friend to ask if he knows it. |

Hi
you are right about it not beeing a valve.
Itīs a neon-gas light bulb.
I got the answer on another forum and tried to plug it in.
It emmits a nice glow from the spiral. Orange and yellow and a little pink
It,s realy bright and nice.
But I still need data about it like maximum voltage and currentdraw and stuff.
Dont want to burn it just because I overvoltage it or something |

I would love to see that thing lighting.
Best regards

Hi Adalin
I wrote to Frank Philipse who agreed in putting your tube in his "data wanted" page. You may check that on
http://home.wxs.nl/~frank.philipse/frank/wanted.html
Do you have 58 of those!? Where did those came from?
Good luck with your project
